Happy Choice Farm

Happy Choice Farm

— Barnesville, Maryland —

THIS NEW FEDERAL-STYLE brick farmhouse crowns a hilltop in western Montgomery County, appearing to have existed in the rural landscape for the past 200 years. Projecting white clapboard additions are assembled beneath a unifying red roof and the entirety of the composition exudes comfort, grace, and simplicity. Use of reclaimed and natural materials like fieldstone, clay brick, lime mortar, clapboard siding, and vintage oak floorboards completes the house inside and out and incorporation of modern geothermal exchange underscores the sustainability of traditional design.
